Far reaching international contacts are a trademark of the University of Greifswald. Numerous official partnership and cooperation agreements connect us with universities and scientific institutions worldwide. Connections are traditionally especially dose to the countries around the Baltic and to Vietnam where the University, as the first German university to do so, has set up its own branch.
In addition to many visiting scholars doing research in Greifswald, over 600 foreign students also belong to the university. Most of them are European but there are also many students from Arabic and East Asian countries who are enrolled at Greifswald University. Both the visiting scholars and the foreign students are taken care of by the Academic Bureau of Student Exchange Programmes.
