Spontaneously diabetic Chinese hamsters (Cricetulus griseus)

Two sublines were derived from the Central Institute of Laboratory Animal Breeding, Hannover in 1990, CHIA/Han and CHIG/Han. Both subline were phenotypically characterized and bred since that time in Karlsburg.
