1. Language Skills
German language skills of at least B1 level are required for all subjects.
Medicine:German language skills of at least B2 level;
English and American Studies:English language skills of at least B2 level
2. Information Regarding Exchanges for Students of Medicine
You can only apply for the second part of the degree (first clinical year = i.e. 5th semester) Furthermore, applications are only possible for a start in the winter semester and for a whole year.
The Application Procedure
If you are interested in coming to the University of Greifswald as an exchange student, you have to first contact the International Office of your home university. If there is a partnership between the universities and you would like to come to Greifswald for one or two semesters, your home university has to nominate you. Nomination should be sent by email to:

2. Online Application
Please register on the online applicant portal, which will be open one month before application deadline.Warning: this does not work with Microsoft Internet Explorer!
Here you will find the corresponding online forms (only for programme students - e.g. Erasmus+) Once you have filled in and sent the form, your application for a study place is complete. You have to submit a passport photo and valid proof of health insurance (please upload a scan) when you apply online.
Please take note of the relevant application deadlines:
31st May for a period of stay starting in the winter semester (1st October to 31st March)
30th November for a period of stay starting in the summer semester (1st April to 30th September).
Deadlines for submission of the Learning Agreement and Transcript of Records
From the 1st to the 31st August (for the winter semester or full academic year)
From the 1st to the 28th February (for the summer semester)
After the application deadline has passed you will receive further information via email. You will receive notification of admission by email approximately 6 to 8 weeks after the application deadline has passed (apart from Medicine).
