The International Office (IO) is the central point of contact at the University for all international issues. Refugee students and prospective students receive support for any study-related, legal or social matters. Together with the Department of Teaching German as a Foreign Language, student initiatives and dedicated individuals, an extensive language, support and cultural programme is on offer for the refugee students at the University of Greifswald.
650 international students from 90 countries were enrolled for the winter semester 2014/2015 at the University of Greifswald. The University of Greifswald’s Studienkolleg (preparatory courses) prepares foreign students for studying at a university in Germany. Foreign study applicants have been offered language support from the Department of Teaching German as a Foreign Language since 1991. If you would like to get an impression of how international the University of Greifswald is, take part in one of the many events hosted by Greifswald International.
If you have any questions regarding e.g. the application process,
study preparations and registering for language courses, feel free to visit us during
our office hours.
The International Office is located very close to the University Main Building.
You do not need to arrange an appointment.
