Apartments & Rental Conditions
The apartments vary in size from one-room studios to family-friendly four-room apartments. They are fully furnished with a built-in kitchen, bed linen, radio alarm clock, television, internet access and telephone connection to the University. A storage room in the basement can be provided on request.
There are coin-operated washing machines and driers on the premises. The attic has been converted to a communal area with seating areas, television, pool table, play area and a small selection of books. The staircase tower that rises above the roof, provides a retreat with two little ‘rooms for thought’.
In summer, tenants can use the seating areas in the courtyard for relaxing. Feel free to use the table tennis table.
Pets are not allowed.
The apartments have an area of between 18 and 87 m² and can accommodate up to a maximum of four persons. The room sizes in the shared flats are 14 or 16 m². At the moment, rent includes all additional costs, such as heating, water, internet and radio/television licences.
A deposit and fee for final cleaning must be paid on completion of the contract. For shorter periods of stay, please contact the office of the IBZ to ask about accommodation costs.
Reservations for foreign academics should be made by the hosting institute or department. The institutes or departments can either make the reservations through the IBZ Office or via the International Office, if there has already been contact regarding the visiting academic.
If the day of arrival is a weekday, the keys can be collected from the IBZ Office following prior arrangement. If guests are to arrive on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, the responsible chaperone for the visiting academic is asked to contact the IBZ Office regarding key collection.
