On July 4, 1776, the delegates of 12 British colonies in America approved the Declaration of Independence that not only listed the many grievances against the British king but also enshrined their ambitious idea that “… all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
250 Jahre nach diesem historischen Ereignis laden Bachelorstudierende des Faches Anglistik/Amerikanistik der Universität Greifswald dazu ein, den amerikanischen Unabhängigkeitstag kreativ und interaktiv zu begehen. Entsprechend unseres Mottos „What’s to celebrate?“ wünschen wir uns einen offenen und respektvollen Meinungsaustausch mit unseren Gästen über historische Errungenschaften, kulturelle Einflüsse und derzeitige Herausforderungen in den USA.
