Welcome Centre for International Researchers

The Welcome Centre is the central point of contact for international academics at the University of Greifswald.

Contact us for any non-academic queries you might have concerning your stay in Greifswald. We will provide you with information and practical help, either per email or in person. You will profit from our years of experience in supporting international guests.

We give you access to an integrative network that will help you settle in to your new surroundings more easily. It is very important for us that you feel at home in Greifswald.

Of course this also applies to the international guests at Greifswald’s external research institutes, the FLI, the INP, the IPP and the Krupp Kolleg.

Please register at the Welcome Centre. This makes it possible for us to provide you with the desired service and to invite you to events, such as the “International Stammtisch” that takes place on a regular basis.

Please note that the following information is provided for international postdocs, academic staff members, doctoral students and visiting academics who are planning a period of stay of longer than three months.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students should please continue to contact the colleagues at the International Office.

Greifswald International

Greifswald International is the international community at the University of Greifswald. The main players are the International Office, the Local Erasmus Initiative (LEI) and AStA International. News and events are made public on facebook and instagram.

IBZ - International Guest House

Due to its function rooms and guest accommodation, the International Guest House 'Felix Hausdorff' is a meeting point for international academics.

Graduate Academy

The goal of the Graduate Academy is to provide junior scholars with very good conditions for successfully completing their doctorates or postdoctoral phases and to also prepare them for careers in the academic and non-academic worlds by offering a specific qualification programme.
