Bioeconomy Conference

Bioeconomy aims to use and produce biological resources in a way that makes it possible to develop procedures, products and services and thus to maintain a sustainable economy. Bioeconomy has been part of our daily lives for a long time, but it is still hardly known. DeRaw materials gained from plants have been used to produce winter tyres (natural rubber or dandelions) or ice cream (blue sweet lupins) for years.

Bioeconomy also plays a key role at the University of Greifswald. That’s why the University organises the biannual Bioeconomy Conference in Anklam in cooperation with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Neubrandenburg for Eastern Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. At the conference, experts from the fields of industry and science give presentations and discuss the future of bioeconomy in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The fourth Bioeconomy Conference took place in Anklam on the 6th and 7th November 2019.
