HRK President on the Effects of the Corona Pandemic on the Universities [de]

'In order to protect the health of the general public, postponing the start of lectures at universities, which has already been realised or is in planning, is sensible and unfortunately unavoidable. These measures must be welcomed in spite of the restrictions they will cause the students and challenges they entail for all of the members of the university community. This also applies to the widespread cancellation of public events, academic conferences etc. We support the universities in their efforts to help prevent a fast spread of the virus,' said Professor Dr. Peter-André Alt, President of the German Rectors' Conference (HRK).
