1,000,000 years of Earth’s history uncovered?

An international research team led by researchers from Greifswald was able to drill several boreholes in the Tibetan Lake Nam Co. The lake lies at an altitude of over 4700 metres, which makes this the highest lake borehole in the world. The researchers hope that their samples will provide insights into the climate of the past, the development of life in a certain region and changes in the Earth’s magnetic field.
