Senate Elects New Rector for the University of Greifswald
The University of Greifswald’s Academic Senate elected Prof. Dr. Katharina Riedel as the new Rector of the University in the 2nd round of voting on 21 October 2020. Professor Riedel has already accepted the vote. Incumbent Rector Prof. Dr. Johanna Weber’s term of office will end on 31 March 2021. The investiture, the ceremony for handing over office, will also take place on this date.
“I am delighted about the trust vested in me by this election and I will make every effort and devote a great deal of passion in the fulfilment of the mandate,” says Prof. Dr. Katharina Riedel.
