Working closely with the University’s leadership, University Communications is responsible for the communication and representation of the University of Greifswald towards specific target audiences. It also supports the academic communication of the researchers and research projects.
Using media releases, an event calendar and various social media profiles, University Communications informs different public target audiences.
The team connects journalists with suitable contact persons at the University of Greifswald and makes contact to academics and scientists, who they need for their research. University Communications watches media coverage.
It advises members of the University on dealing with media and the general public.
The Press Office publishes the University magazine Campus 1456 . It also publishes brochures, flyers and further information media.
Furthermore, University Communications plays a role in the University’s central marketing activities. Since 2008, the University of Greifswald has participated actively in nationwide marketing campaigns, especially in the national campaign “Mein Campus - Studieren in Fernost” and the state campaign “Sea your Future”.
The University of Greifswald addresses the public with the central University website, according to § 6 MDStV (German Interstate Agreement on Media Services). University Communications is responsible for the creation and editing of all internet information concerning the University’s administration and self-government bodies.
