In secret ballots, the University’s Extended Senate also re-elected Dorthe G. A. Hartmann as Pro-Rector for Teaching, Teacher Training and Internationalisation and Hennis Herbst as Student Pro-Rector.
Prof. Dr. Annelie Ramsbrock has been Chair of Contemporary History at the University of Greifswald since April 2022. She previously led the research department at the Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History Potsdam (ZZF) and was a senior lecturer at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where she completed her habilitation in 2020.
Prof. Ramsbrock completed her doctorate in 2010 at Freie Universität Berlin’s Friedrich Meinecke Institute, Department of History and Cultural Studies. Annelie Ramsbrock studied History, German Language and Literature, and Protestant Theology at Bielefeld University and the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore (USA). Various stations in her academic career have taken her to the University of Göttingen, St. Antony’s College at the University of Oxford, and the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities (KWI) Essen.
Annelie Ramsbrock’s research and teaching focuses on the European history of the 19th and 20th centuries, the history of medicine and knowledge, the history of the body, the history of punishment and violence, as well as human-animal history.
