At the University of Greifswald’s Department of Political Science and Communication Studies in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, there is a job vacancy in the political science section that is expected to be available for earliest possible appointment, subject to budgetary regulations, for a full-time
Postdoctoral Teaching Associate.
The position on offer is permanent and suitable for part-time employment. Payment will be made in accordance with pay group 13 TV-LWissenschaft.
Job description:
- Teaching in various areas of political science; the teaching load is determined in accordance with the LVVO M-V (currently: 14 teaching hours à 45 min. per week per semester).
- Supporting teaching and learning activities in the field of political science, including student advisory services, internationalisation, and degree course development. Reductions in the required amount of teaching can be requested if the position holder takes on central responsibilities such as student advisory services.
- Administrative and organisational tasks in the running of the Department.
- Pursuing independent research and publication activities within the scope of official duties.
Job requirements:
- On commencement of employment, a completed university degree in political science
- On commencement of employment, a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in political science
- Teaching experience in political science at higher education level
- Broad knowledge of political science, qualifying the candidate to teach in a range of modules within the bachelor's degree course in political science, including Political Theory and the History of Political Thought as well as at least one subfield of empirical political science
- Excellent German language skills (minimum C2) and excellent English language skills (minimum C1)
Desirable:
- Experience in student advisory services
- Experience in the internationalisation of teaching and in teaching courses in English
- An active research and publication record in the field of political science
