On May 6, 2026 Prof. Hristina Uzunova will give her inaugural lecture as part of the Late Lunch Seminars on the topic of "Artificial intelligence in medical imaging".
AI has become a key driver of innovation in medical imaging, enabling highly accurate analysis of complex, high-dimensional data. However, purely data-driven models often remain limited in robustness, they are prone to bias, and lack true interpretability. Looking ahead, the tight integration of medicine and computer science offers a unique opportunity to develop knowledge-integrated approaches that explicitly incorporate domain expertise, leading to more reliable, transparent, and clinically meaningful AI systems.
The Late Lunch Seminars, the Medical Faculty’s scientific lecture series, aim to promote networking across a wide range of research topics. The talks include presentations from local scientists and external project partners as well as inaugural lectures by newly appointed professors. The lectures are primarily aimed at the scientific staff of University Medicine, the University and non-university research institutions in Greifswald.
The talk is open to the university public and will be held in English. Registration is not required.
