Regulations for Public Service Employees

The TV-L collective agreement, which entered into force on 1 November 2006, provides the employment regulations for all public service employees who are employed by the German federal states. Special regulations for employees at higher education institutions and research institutes are stipulated in § 40 TV-L. The classification and remuneration of the public service employees employed by the German federal states are defined in the TV-L’s Entgeltordnung (Pay Classification Regulations).
