Commissioning of examiners

In the university context, "examiner commissioning " means that a university officially authorises a person to conduct examinations. This commissioning is made by the examination board and ensures that the examiners are professionally qualified and authorised to conduct examinations. Without a valid examiner commissioning, an examination is not legally permitted.

The examiners are commissioned each semester by the Examination Board. If several examiners have been commissioned for a module examination, students have a choice. However, it is permissible to change examiners and assessors at short notice for objective reasons. There is therefore no entitlement to a specific examiner.
