Joint examination regulations for diploma degree programmes

Examination and study regulations regulate the course and content of the degree programme in their area.

The examination regulations regulate the modalities of the examinations, in particular the examination deadlines, the number and form of the examinations to be taken and their requirements. Each degree programme has "common examination regulations" or "framework examination regulations". Which one applies is usually determined by § 1 of the respective examination regulations.

The study regulations regulate the course of the degree programme on the basis of the examination regulations. It specifies which courses should be taken in which time frame. As a rule, a study plan is attached to the study regulations, which shows a possible course of study. The module descriptions (also known as the module catalogue or module handbook) provide an overview of all modules offered in the subject and their content.
