Dies academicus on 29 May 2024

The event will take place on the Loefflerstraße Campus and is open to all members of the university community.

PROGRAMME (preliminary)

2.00 p.m. – 3.30 p.m.    Opening of the Dies academicus by the Rector, awarding of the Prizes for Teaching Excellence and of the DAAD Prize, musical contributions by jazz pop duo Lege & Lena as well as Immanuel Musäus (cornett), lecture hall

3.30 p.m.    Official opening of the festivities by the Rector at Ernst-Lohmeyer-Platz

4.00 p.m. - 5.00 p.m.    Celebratory lecture by Kilian Heck and Christian von Savigny (in German): “Caspar David Friedrich from an Interdisciplinary Perspective, or What Physics and Art History Can Learn from One Another”, Host: Elisabeth Ansel

from 5.00 p.m.    Diverse cultural programme organised and presented by members of our university, including the UniBigBand and Michael Lalk with his experimental lecture “Full of Fire and Flames”.
The event will also feature market stalls with offers from various facilities at the university and guided tours through the university’s historical buildings, the Old University Library, the Gustaf Dalman Collection, the Zoological Museum and the Greifswald Observatory on the Historical Campus (registration possible from May). Get into conversation with each other.
There will be a bouncy castle and childcare offers for your little ones.
Catering will be provided as well.

from 9.00 p.m.    Party at students’ club C9 with professors at the turntables Nicole Endlich, Uwe Bornscheuer, John Rock and Eckhard Schumacher.
