At the University of Greifswald’s Institute of Geography and Geology in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, there is a permanent part-time (50 %) position in the Didactics of Geography section for a
Teaching Associate
that is to be filled by 01 August 2026, subject to budgetary approval. Payment will be made in accordance with pay group 13 TV-L Wissenschaft. The job advertisement is aimed, in particular, at geography teachers at local secondary schools. Employment may take place within the framework of a partial secondment through the Schulamt (local education authority).
Job Description:
- Primarily teaching-related responsibilities
- Planning and conducting classes (8 LVS) for all teacher-training degree courses in the field of didactics of geography
- Examination tasks, supervision of students, participation in academic self-administration
Job Requirements:
- First and Second State Examinations for teaching at Gymnasium (secondary schools up to year 12) in the subject Geography with at least good results, as well as teaching experience in lower and upper secondary education
- Very good German and English language skills
Desirable:
- Experience in subject-specific teaching methodology with practical school relevance
