Research Associate - Chair of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy 25/B27

| academic staff | deadline:

At the University of Greifswald’s Institute of Psychology in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, there is a position available at the Professorship for Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, which is expected to be available from 1 January 2026 subject to budgetary regulations, for a full-time

(Postdoctoral) Teaching and Research Associate

The position is permanent and is suitable for part-time employment. Payment will be made according to pay group 13 TV-L Wissenschaft.

We are seeking an individual with a background in psychology, medicine, clinical neuroscience, mathematics, physics, computer science, data science, or related disciplines, who possesses distinct statistical and methodological expertise. The main responsibilities include active participation in and development of research and teaching activities (see: https://psychologie.uni-greifswald.de/43051/lehrstuehle-ii/klinische-psychologie-und-psychotherapie/ [de]).

The professorship aims to closely integrate research, teaching, and psychotherapeutic practice. All three units share two overarching focal areas: firstly, mechanism-based, personalised psychotherapy research across therapeutic modalities, particularly for patients with depressive disorders; and secondly, psychological support in the context of current crises (see the “Together for Mental Health” [GPG] initiative, Third Mission engagement).

At the interface between the Chair of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy and the Center for Psychological Psychotherapy (ZPP), the position holder will primarily support psychotherapy research and teaching in the area dedicated to research methods. The goal is to teach, practise, and investigate scientifically recognised psychotherapeutic methods at both the professorship and the ZPP.

Within the framework of the Greifswald Psychotherapy Navigator System (GPNS) that has been established at the ZPP, we aim to include all evidence-based psychotherapy modalities across the lifespan to enable cross-modality, evidence-based personalisation. Additionally, the GPG initiative supports intercultural psychotherapy projects as well as projects addressing the interplay between the climate crisis and mental health.

The successful candidate should possess comprehensive statistical and methodological expertise (e.g. in network models, EMA, big data analyses, or AI). Programming and IT skills are highly desirable.

In teaching and research, we collaborate closely with the Professorship for Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology and Psychotherapy and the University’s Outpatient Clinic for Children and Adolescents (ZPKJ).
