Reporting

Sustainability Report
The University of Greifswald’s 2015–2017 Sustainability Report [de] provides a clear and informative overview of the university’s contributions to sustainable development. Sustainability is highlighted as a key element in research, studies and teaching, in transfer, and in operations and administration. The 53-page report was compiled by an editorial team representing all of the university’s faculties and member groups. The report demonstrates what has already been achieved, whilst also providing guidance for future activities. Above all, however, the report aims to encourage a further intensification of productive discourse on issues of sustainable development at the university and joint efforts to meet the challenges ahead.

Climate Protection Reports
The Climate Protection Reports for the years 2021–2024 summarise the work carried out to implement the University of Greifswald’s Climate Protection Strategy, which was passed by the Academic Senate in 2021.
The University of Greifswald aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2030. To this end, five working groups were formed for the individual fields of activity (steering, campus and energy, mobility, university-owned property, and purchasing and contracting), each consisting of members from all member groups of the university, as well as external experts. The main focus of the working groups’ tasks was to produce the comprehensive greenhouse gas accounting for the university and to develop and set the course for the first measures to effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
