The elections to the Senate and Faculty Councils will be held as online elections from 6 to 9 January 2026. Access to the elections system is granted via the user account that members of the university community at the University of Greifswald use to perform their work tasks or for their studies. This user account is created automatically for members of the university community pursuant to § 50(1) and § 55(2) Item 6 State Higher Education Act (LHG M-V), i.e. for all public sector employees whose primary employer is the university, the enrolled students, doctoral candidates, and the contract lecturers. Therefore, you should usually already have a user account (account management). If this is not the case and you are entitled to vote, you may request a user account from the University Computer Centre. The University of Greifswald’s Wahlordnung (Electoral Regulations) [de] stipulates in § 2 who is entitled to vote and who is eligible for election. We recommend that you submit your request as soon as possible in order to be able to take part in the online election; your right to postal voting remains unaffected.

PLEASE NOTE: Irrespective of the initial voter authentication via the personal user account, the technical transmission of user data to the Online Elections System occurs in anonymised form to ensure the secret casting of votes, as required by the legal provisions for elections (§ 53 LHG M-V, §§ 3(1), 26(3) WahlO).
