We are pleased to invite you to participate in the Spring Open Science School, which will take place in Camerino. The school is an intensive, practice-oriented programme that aims to strengthen participants' conceptual understanding and operational skills in the four core areas of open science: open access, open data, open educational resources and citizen science.
It will also address how open science approaches can support research and practice in the field of cultural heritage by improving access to knowledge, promoting transparent and reusable data sets, enabling open educational resources for the transmission of knowledge about cultural heritage, and fostering meaningful participation of local communities through citizen-driven initiatives.
The programme begins with an introductory session on the fundamentals of open science and the European policy landscape, including links to Horizon Europe, the EU's open science strategies and the COARA commitments. Each subsequent day will focus on one pillar, combining structured conceptual sessions with interactive workshops, case studies, and applied exercises to provide participants with concrete tools that can be transferred to research and institutional contexts, including the field of cultural heritage.
Participants will benefit from contributions from high-level national and international experts, ensuring a diverse and multidisciplinary perspective. The school will conclude with a synthesis session presenting key findings and actionable recommendations to support the adoption and dissemination of open science practices.
