Connecting Students and Courses Across Europe: Introducing the KreativEU Transnational Course Catalogue

The KreativEU alliance has launched its new Transnational Course Catalogue (CC). This externally accessible catalogue provides a central hub for finding all English-language courses offered within the alliance, making it easy for students to explore their options.

Built for Easy Access 

Developed by the teams at the University of Greifswald and the University of Targoviste, with valuable input from all WP2 partners, the catalogue utilizes a modern, user-friendly web application built with technologies such as Next.js and React. An achievement was establishing a common data format (JSON) which allows course information to be shared between institutions, regardless of their existing systems. 

What You Can Find 

The CC is more than a list of courses; it provides detailed, comparable information, including course type, credit points and field of study. Students can easily search and filter courses, while academic staff can contribute and update course information via a simple form that returns the information in the correct format. This can then be sent to the CC moderators. The catalogue also reuses existing information from each partner university's local course catalogue, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Looking Ahead 

After its launch at the end of August 2025, two major updates will be published twice a year well in advance of each semester besides minor updates throughout the year. Morevoer, future feature enhancements and closer integration with the upcoming central KreativEU platform are planned. This application promises to improve the findability of courses, boost student mobility and potentially serve as a model for other European higher education institutions intending to build similar applications.
