Information for students applying for a Deutschlandstipendium at the University of Greifswald
The call for applications for the Deutschlandstipendium 2025/26 begins on the 13 June 2025 and ends on the 25 July 2025.
The University of Greifswald awards the Deutschlandstipendium to support top-performing students at the beginning of each year’s winter semester. The maximum number of scholarships that can be awarded depends on the number of students at the University and on the number of sponsors.
Students from all faculties and disciplines can apply, who are expected to attain or have already gained excellent achievements during their studies and careers. The application must clearly be addressed to one faculty. First-time applicants must still have at least two semesters of the regular length of study ahead of them.
This support is provided independent of income and can be received in addition to BAföG, subject to no further conditions. The funding helps young adults improve their living and learning circumstances. It therefore promotes creative minds and makes an important contribution to the fight against the impending shortage of skilled workers
A scholarship amounts to € 300 per month. It is granted for at least one year (exceptions are possible in succession procedures).
The scholarships are allocated on the basis of the act to create a national scholarship programme (Gesetz zur Schaffung eines nationalen Stipendienprogramms, Stipendienprogramm-Gesetz - StipG) of 21 July 2010 (Federal Law Gazette, BGBl. I p. 957), amended by article 1 of the act from 21 December 2010 (BGBl. I p. 2204); the ordinance of the Federal Government on the implementation of the StipG (Stipendienprogramm-Verordnung - StipV) of 20 December 2010 (BGBl. I p. 2197), and the University of Greifswald’s Statutes on the Allocation of Scholarships from the National Scholarship Programme of 23 April 2020.
