Postdoctoral Teaching and Research Associate
(akademische*r Rätin*Rat)
The position on offer is permanent. The position is suitable for part-time employment. The post has been rated with pay grade A13 BBesO. If the successful candidate is able to fulfil the requirements pursuant to civil service law, the University will aim to employ them as a civil servant in higher service (zweites Einstiegsamt der Laufbahngruppe 2), performing academic duties. Otherwise, they shall be employed as a public employee in accordance with pay group 13 TV-L Wissenschaft.
At the Professorship for Developmental and Educational Psychology at the University of Greifswald, we investigate developmental differences in cognition and motivation across the human lifespan (from childhood to old age). We offer an excellent teaching and research infrastructure, a motivated, multi-methodological team, and a research network with numerous national and international collaborations.
Job responsibilities:
- Teaching classes (lectures and seminars) for students on the Primary Education degree course in the areas of developmental and educational psychology (12 contact hours / six classes per week)
- Organising and conducting examinations
- Supervising theses
- Designing, coordinating, and supervising empirical research projects in the field of lifespan development.
Job requirements:
- This civil service post will only be conferred if the successful candidate is qualified to serve as a civil servant in higher service, performing academic duties. If they are unable to provide the required professional qualifications for higher service, an advanced university degree (at the time of employment a completed degree in psychology, master's degree or equivalent) and at least two years and six months of full-time employment in a relevant field can also be recognised as equivalent professional qualification. The details are defined in § 14(4) Landesbeamtengesetz - LBG M-V (State Civil Service Act) and § 12 Allgemeine Laufbahnverordnung - ALVO M-V (General Career Path Ordinance for Civil Servants).
- Excellent knowledge of developmental and/or educational psychology
- Research experience in psychology
- Excellent teaching evaluations (please provide relevant documentation)
- German language level C1
Desired:
- Methodological expertise in statistical procedures
- Experience in experimental psychological research
- Experience in neuroscientific research
- Doctorate in psychology
- English language level B2
