At the University of Greifswald’s Department of Political Science and Communication Studies, Chair of Political Sociology and Methods of Political Science, in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, there is a job vacancy for earliest possible appointment, subject to budgetary approval, for a part-time (75 %)
Postdoctoral Teaching & Research Associate.
The position on offer is limited to a period ofthree years. Payment will be made according to pay group 13 TV-L Wissenschaft.
Job description:
- Teaching in the political science degree courses
- Participation in the Chair’s research activities
- Participation in academic self-administration
- The position serves qualification in the second academic phase; tasks will be assigned that are conducive to the realisation of postdoctoral qualifications (Habilitation or equivalent).
Job requirements:
- Successfully completed postgraduate university degree (master’s or equivalent) in political science or a related field by the time employment starts
- Successfully completed doctorate (PhD) in political science or a related field by the time employment starts
- Excellent knowledge of research methods relevant to social science (quantitative and/or qualitative) and their application
- Excellent English language skills (C1)
Desirable:
- Initial academic publications or publication projects that are at a verifiable advanced stage
- Teaching experience in political science
- Research focus in the field of parties, parliamentarism, or elections
- Analytical thinking, teaching aptitude, and ability to work in a team
