Call for Entries 2018
Competition for outstanding academic and practical works related to textiles or from adjoining areas of material culture.
The prize is awarded to individuals or groups that can prove that they are associated to the University of Greifswald or one of its partner universities. This is the case, in particular, if the submitted piece of work was produced during employment at the University of Greifswald or a partner university.
The winner of the prize will receive € 800
The Prize was endowed to the University of Greifswald in 1985 by the initiator of carpet-knotting in Vorpommern, Rudolf Stundl (1897-1990). The goal of the competition is to promote excellent academic and practical works related to textiles or from adjoining areas of material culture. The competition for the Rudolf Stundl Prize is held every four years. Innovative artistic work related to textiles is particularly prizeworthy. The spectrum covers works that have been made with textiles, as well as written works on textiles from a historical, art theory, technical or commercial point of view. The works can also focus on witnesses of material culture and sources from scientific collections at universities and tertiary education institutions that are related to textile materials. Furthermore, entries can be made to the competition on overlapping topics such as marketing, communication, ecology and digital media, if they are related to textiles.
