... the representative body for severely disabled persons actually do?
One of the tasks of the Representative Body for Severely Disabled Persons (SBV) is to promote the integration and participation of severely disabled employees at the University of Greifswald in the work process. It represents their interests and provides them with advice and assistance. The SBV is the point of contact for all matters affecting individuals or severely disabled people as a group. It represents the interests of severely disabled and equally disabled people in personnel matters, both in the non-academic and academic staff sectors, and is committed to improving working conditions, for example through the restructuring of work processes and the design of workplaces to be accessible to disabled people.

It is important to talk openly about your disability and not to worry about being disadvantaged by the university as an employer. After all, not being affected is not an achievement, but a gift that could be taken away at any time. That is why the SBV in the higher education sector and, of course, the university management would like to encourage all colleagues affected to be honest with us if they have a degree of disability (GdB) so that we can provide them with comprehensive support.
