Short Periods of Stay at the University of Greifswald

The University of Greifswald uses daily expenses allowances to promote the stays of visiting academics as part of existing projects and in preparation of new university partnerships.

Organisation & Funding

State Funds for University Partnerships

Every year in December, academics from Greifswald can request start-up and partial funding of partnership activities for the following year by submitting the electronic questionnaire on international activities to the International Office. We also use our remaining funds to try and support visits which are planned at short notice during the course of the year.

Ostpartnerschaften (Eastern Partnerships)

Academics from partner universities wanting to do short-term periods of research can also receive funding through the German Academic Exchange Service’s (DAAD) Eastern Partnerships [de] Programme. Applications and nominations for this exchange programme are always submitted at the beginning of the year to the international offices of the home universities.

EU Mobility Programme Erasmus+

Short periods of teaching as a visiting lecturer at the University of Greifswald can also receive Erasmus+ funding. If there is a partnership agreement between your home university and the University of Greifswald, you can can apply for Erasmus+ funding via the International Office at your university.
