120 years ago: First woman to earn a doctorate at UG
On April 21, 1906, the first woman at the University of Greifswald received her doctoral degree. Gertrud Roegner, born on June 16, 1873, in Liegnitz (now Legnica), studied medicine beginning in 1901 in Halle, Göttingen, Breslau, and finally in Greifswald until 1905.
