University Partnerships

Our international partnerships at both the university and institute levels offer attractive opportunities for you to study outside Europe. Our university exchange programme includes host universities located around the world.

The Benefits of the University Exchange Programme

  • Exchange students do not have to pay tuition fees (in most cases)

  • Help in organising an exchange placement is provided by both the home and host universities

  • Recognition of academic credits[de] earned at the host university is set out in the student’s learning agreement

Requirements

You can join the university exchange programme if you:

  • are enrolled at the University of Greifswald on a full degree course

  • can demonstrate a good academic track record in your studies so far

  • have completed the second year of your degree course by the time you start your exchange placement (in some cases, an earlier start may be possible)

  • have a good command of the national language of your host institution (in some non-English speaking countries, it may be possible to study a limited number of courses in English)

  • have attended an initial consultation session at the International Office. Personal advisory sessions are only possible once you have attended the initial consultation.

You can study for one or two semesters at a partner university. If you plan to stay for two semesters, you will normally start studying at the host institution in the autumn/winter semester of the academic year.

Please note: If you are interested in studying abroad, you should begin your planning about eighteen months before you intend to start studying, as this will allow you to meet application deadlines for the foreign host university or for scholarships or other funding programmes.

Russian Scholarship
