Erasmus+ Funding for Visiting Academics

The Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching (STA)  enables short-term guest lectureships at European universities with which there is already a cooperation at department level. More information on existing cooperative agreements in your subject area can be found in our database[de].

Please note:  If you are interested in a temporary teaching position in Russia or Vietnam, please contact the International Office for more information.

Objectives

Spending time teaching at a European host university can strengthen cooperative ties within Europe as well as supplementing the courses and curricula offered at the host institution. You will also be able to reach students who are unable or unwilling to study abroad. You can share your expertise in your subject area through talks, lecture courses, seminars or by supervising work groups.

How you Benefit

  • Teaching your area of expertise
  • Acquiring international teaching experience
  • Gaining insights into new forms of teaching
  • Promoting exchange between the University of Greifswald and its partner universities
  • Developing and deepening cooperative networks

Requirements

The minimum duration of the stay (excluding travel time) is two days; the maximum duration is two months. Due to budgetary limitations, financial support can be provided for a maximum of ten teaching days.

You will be expected to teach a minimum of eight hours during each week (or partial week) of your stay.

The following groups are eligible for funding:

  • Professors and teaching staff employed by the university
  • University teachers (unremunerated)
  • Part-time contract teaching staff
  • Emeritus professors and retired members of teaching staff
  • Teaching and/or research assistants

Funding comprises a fixed daily allowance (per diem) and a fixed-rate travel grant.
