Students as Co-Creators: Making Student Work Matter Beyond the Course
In many courses, students invest considerable time and effort in assignments that are rarely used again once they have been submitted and assessed. But what if student work could have value beyond the course itself?
In this workshop, we will explore how students can become active co-creators of resources that are useful to others – for example, by developing learning materials, explanatory texts, wiki contributions, case studies, or other openly reusable resources. Open Educational Resources (OER) provide a framework for making student work visible, reusable, and accessible beyond the immediate course context.
We will look at different forms of student-created OER, discuss how suitable assignments can be designed, and consider the didactic, organisational, and legal aspects involved. Participants will be invited to relate these ideas directly to their own teaching.
