Liberal Democratic Values Among Immigrants in Europe. Socialization and Adaptation Processes

The lecture series “Democratic Challenges in Europe” explores current challenges facing democracies in Europe, particularly in the Baltic Sea region. The lectures address topics such as emotional polarization, political representation, and minority policy, and encourage open discussion. All interested parties are warmly welcome.

Since the summer of 2020, Prof. Dr. Marc Helbling has held the Chair of Sociology with a focus on migration and integration. His research focuses on migration and citizenship policy, xenophobia and Islamophobia, populist and extremist attitudes, the causes of migration, and the integration of migrants.
