The anthropological question, and even more so that of anthropocentrism, are at the heart of contemporary debates in continental philosophy. Environmental philosophy, philosophy of technology or political philosophy put into question Cartesian ontology - as well as the problematic status of the human being as "master and possessor of nature" - yet leave open an anthropological investigation on the human grounds of freedom and responsibility. Using phenomenological resources, I will address this topic: 1/ to understand the relationship between humans, living beings and technology, 2/to trace the contours of their individuation, and 3/ to identify what may be specifically human in the human being.
