Mechano-molecular control of heart development and its implication in disease

Veranstaltung der UMG

On June 24, 2026 Prof. Daniela Panáková will give a lecture as part of the Late Lunch Seminars on the topic of “Mechano-molecular control of heart development and its implication in disease".

Prof. Panáková's research focuses on deciphering how morphogenetic signaling and physiological cues orchestrate cellular responses during both heart development and disease progression. By integrating developmental biology with molecular physiology in the zebrafish model, she aims to bridge the gap between basic discovery and clinical applications in regard to heart formation and its natural capacity for repair. Ultimately, her work seeks to provide fundamental mechanistic insights into the pathophysiology of common cardiovascular conditions including congenital heart defects.

The Late Lunch Seminars, the Medical Faculty’s scientific lecture series, aim to promote networking across a wide range of research topics. The talks include presentations from local scientists and external project partners as well as inaugural lectures by newly appointed professors. The lectures are primarily aimed at the scientific staff of University Medicine, the University and non-university research institutions in Greifswald.

The talk is open to the university public and will be held in English. Registration is not required.
