In this workshop, we will explore how we can integrate sex and gender into grant applications within the humanities and social sciences. Not only is it now standard practice for most funding organizations to require applicants to specify these categories in their applications (e.g., DFG), but ignoring sex and gender also makes our own research less precise and less inclusive.
In the humanities and social sciences, there are a variety of approaches that address gender. We want to gain an overview of common concepts in history, social sciences, and literary studies and use concrete examples to discuss what successful integration into research can look like.
